By default (or according to your current hosting settings) the server logs the PHP errors to the file, rather that displaying them on screen. So you'd need to review those errors and put in place a fix to stop them occurring. (post a few examples of the errors you see to a reply on the forum here, and we can offer further advice).
Once you download the file, you can probably delete the file on the server as it will be recreated when further errors occur.
